CLAYMORE – Clare – Original Illustration Reproduction (Jump SQ – Made to Order)
I have only seen this piece twice in my entire life as a collector. Twice. And both times, it slipped through my fingers.
Since then, it has become a quiet obsession. Among all the rare Claymore items in existence, this official reproduction remains the one I regret missing the most.
Sommaire
Context & discovery
I first encountered this reproduction while browsing completed listings on Mandarake.
The sale was already over, marked SOLD OUT.
Yet a single image and a few lines of description were enough for me to understand one thing:
this illustration of Clare, sword raised, eyes burning with resolve, was far more than a simple piece of merchandise.
It carried the full aura of Claymore.
From that moment on, I knew it would become one of my collector’s grails.

Why this reproduction matters
Norihiro Yagi’s style is unmistakable: sharp, restrained, and precise. He has an extraordinary ability to capture the icy dignity of his heroines.
This illustration is not merely beautiful. It distills everything Claymore stands for: solitude, determination, and the weight of an impossible quest.
Unlike other franchises flooded with derivative products, Claymore never received waves of mass merchandising.
Every rare item feels like a relic.
My attempts / frustrations
My only real chance came in 2021, on Yahoo Auctions. I bid up to ¥91,000. The final price? ¥91,500.
Five hundred yen. Less than five euros.
Losing a piece like this over such a narrow margin leaves a very particular scar.
A frustration that never truly fades — even years later. Because this wasn’t indifference. I was there. Ready.
I simply didn’t have the budget to click one last time. To this day, I regret letting that moment pass.

Why I keep searching
Unlike the Fate universe, Claymore does not flood the market with collectibles.
Here, every piece is a treasure. This reproduction represents the culmination of a long pursuit: owning a tangible, rare, and official trace of a universe I have admired for years.
I know it will one day join my collection. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe in ten years.
But I am convinced it exists somewhere, waiting, and that one day, I will finally get my hands on it.
